Leadership Practices
Modular Overview
We began our
study of educational leadership by considering the different models, theories,
and perspectives from which leadership has been and continues to be studied.
In this module, we are going to take a closer look at two of these models -
the transformational and the transactional leader. In particular, in this 2nd
module we are going to analyze and evaluate the extent and manner in which the
current research in educational leadership draws upon these models.
Module Learning Objectives
By the
completion of this module, you will be able to:

Depict the central identifying
elements of transformational and transactional leadership styles (Case).

Provide a research-based opinion
regarding the strengths and possible limitations of transformational
leadership (Case).

Analyze and synthesize the
research that explicitly examines leadership within a transformational
context (TD).
